A man was shot on the northwest side of Wisconsin Dells Wednesday afternoon, police reported.
Authorities and first responders answered a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound near the intersection of Highways 12/16 and Fitzgerald Road just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, Wisconsin Dells Police Chief Nicholas Brinker said Thursday.
The initial investigation led officers to a house in the 600 block of Commercial Avenue, one block north of the reported intersection, where they discovered evidence that the shooting had taken place there.
Evidence and information from the scene indicate that the shooting is likely an isolated and targeted incident, Brinker said.
There is no suspect in custody, and the investigation is ongoing, Brinker said. No information on the victim's health status or any other updates were available as of Thursday afternoon.
