A Wisconsin Dells man was arrested in Chicago Thursday night in connection with a shooting the day before in the tourist community.
Oscar Perez, 34, was arrested by Chicago police around 10 p.m. Thursday on tentative charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, Wisconsin Dells Police Chief Nicholas Brinker said.
Perez was taken into custody in Chicago after multiple search warrants were executed and hours of surveillance video were reviewed, along with interviews of numerous witnesses.
The shooting occurred in the 600 Block of Commercial Avenue on Wisconsin Dells’ northwest side in the late afternoon Wednesday. The man’s condition was not provided, but he is stable, Brinker said.
Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Response Team and Lake Delton Police assisted Chicago and Wisconsin Dells authorities in the investigation.
