A 23-year-old Lake Delton man was arrested on Sunday night in connection with the death of a woman in the village.
Brandon Bent was tentatively charged with first-degree intentional homicide after being apprehended around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Lake Delton police announced on Monday morning. He was arrested after a woman was found dead in a home on the 300 block of Canyon Road in the village on Friday night.
Authorities are withholding the woman’s name pending family or next-of-kin notification. Lake Delton police are investigating the incident and had no further information as of Monday.
“Everyone has been pretty much quiet about everything,” John Kieca, who lives on Canyon Road near the house in which the woman’s body was found, said. “It’s probably taking some time to find the next of kin.”
He added that the house previously has housed foreign exchange students.

The department announced no immediate danger to the public over the weekend prior to arresting Bent. Kieca said such events are “pretty rare” in the area.
“This stuff just doesn’t happen down here,” said Kieca, who used to live in the Chicago area.
The department responded to a suspicious activity complaint at the Canyon Road residence on Friday night at around 11 p.m. on Friday. Responding officers found the woman’s body in the home.
“There was an ambulance call out there (on Friday night) for someone supposedly shot,” Kieca said. “The next morning when I got up, (the Wisconsin Department of Justice) was out there around 7 with two of their big investigative units and had it all roped off.”
Pending homicide charges against Bent were referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office. Bent also has an open misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct case from December.
