Four teenagers died early Monday after the pickup truck they were traveling in was stuck by a semi truck east of Columbus, authorities said.
The four were in a 2000 Ford F150 traveling north on Highway TT when it failed to stop at a stop sign at Highway 16/60 around 4 a.m., Dodge County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Loos said in a statement. Their vehicle was struck by a 2017 Western Star semi, which didn’t have a trailer, traveling east on Highway 16/60.
Three of the five occupants in the Ford F150 died at the scene: the driver, a 19-year-old Sun Prairie man; and two passengers: a 17-year-old Sun Prairie boy and a 16-year-old Madison boy. Two 18-year-old women were also in the vehicle. One of the women later died at UW Hospital in Madison. The other woman was at UW Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The semi was operated by a 57-year-old La Farge man, who was taken to Prairie Ridge Hospital in Columbus with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
Beaver Dam paramedics, Columbus Fire Department, Life Star EMS and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Medical Examiner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office chaplains assisted at the scene.
