Fresh, local food is one of the joys of living in a small community, which is why it’s troubling that several long time local vendors are no longer allowed to sell honey, produce and plants at Bowman Park. Their presence has added value — not just through their products, but through relationships they’ve built with residents and the local flavor they offer tourists.
I hope the city will revisit this decision and work to find a solution. Supporting local vendors benefits residents, strengthens our local identity, and enhances the experience of visitors who want to take home something local.
