Numerous banks across the city of Portage will again serve as facilitators for happiness this holiday season as their lobbies feature Christmas trees adorned with the gift wishes of about 500 children waiting to be fulfilled by caring community members.
Back for its 34th year, the Portage Area Caring Tree program sees the gift wishes of community children fulfilled by community members who want to make a difference during the Christmas season. Trees can be found in Portage State Bank, Community Bank of Portage, Portage’s Summit Credit Union and Westby Co-Op Credit Union, and other locations throughout town. If a bank doesn't yet have their tree set up, tags will still be available for people to grab.
The Red Kettle Concert is now in its 15th year and will be ushering in the holiday season on Dec. 1 with the stage of the Beaver Dam High School auditorium filling up with performers.
