Families can travel back in time to discover the living descendants of prehistoric creatures as J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue presents “Prehistoric Pets at the Library” from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wonewoc Public Library, 305 Center St., Wonewoc. This is a free, family-friendly event.
Part of the Summer Reading Program, Prehistoric Pets explores the connections between modern animals and the ancient creatures that once roamed the Earth. Through live animal encounters and interactive learning opportunities, attendees will discover how reptiles, amphibians, and other species still share traits with animals that lived during the age of dinosaurs.
The program features live animals that share traits with prehistoric species, hands-on learning and up-close encounters, fun and educational facts about evolution, adaptation, and survival, lessons about responsible pet ownership and animal conservation and opportunities for photos and questions during the presentation.
