Beaver Dam Middle School seventh-graders Francisco Aquilar-Mendez, left, and Brayden Bedker try out new virtual headsets that allow students to experience the great pyramids of Egypt or travel back to the Stone Age without leaving the classroom.
From visiting Mars to examining a human heart, Beaver Dam Middle School students can now have experiences they never could within the four walls of their classrooms through a new virtual reality program introduced this month.
Beaver Dam Middle School library media specialist Jennifer Vinz helps seventh-grader Francisco Aguilar-Mendez with a pair of virtual reality goggles, which allow students to have "experiences that they may not get to do in in their life."
“We can’t give them the experience of looking at a human heart in real life, but with this we can make it where they can actually experience it." Beaver Dam Middle School social studies teacher Jennifer Bowser says of the virtual reality goggles and software introduced this month.
