Sauk County is planning and seeking funding for its proposed 27-mile extension of the Great Sauk State Trail. If completed, the trail would connect to The 400 State Trail in Reedsburg.
Sunday bike near Highway 78
Cyclists bike south toward Prairie du Sac along the Great Sauk State Trail near its intersection with Highway 78 north of the village. Sauk County unveiled its plan to extend the trail, as well as its progress toward that goal, on Wednesday at the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library in Baraboo.

Riverwalk Park pass-through

Pay station at midpoint
One of the kiosks where cyclists and e-bike riders can purchase trail passes is at the Great Sauk State Trail entrance on Highway 78. Two more are at the trail’s intersection with Goette Road — its northern terminus — and at Riverwalk Park in Prairie du Sac.
