Proposed work on Trimbelle River bridge includes overlaying the deck with concrete
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public input on a proposed maintenance project on the bridge that carries WIS 29 over the Trimbelle River east of the city of River Falls in Pierce County.
The public is invited to go to the project website, review information about the proposed work and submit comments by Nov. 13, 2026.
Built in 1941, the bridge is in need of maintenance. WisDOT is proposing:
Overlaying the bridge deck with concrete
Completing ancillary work on the rest of structure
Repaving roadway approaches
During construction, WIS 29 will remain open to a single lane of traffic at the bridge controlled by temporary traffic signals.
