Ghost bowling
Arina Vanages of Portage tries to knock down stacks of toilet paper in "ghost bowling" at the first "Pumpkins in the Park" event hosted Sunday afternoon by Portage Parks and Recreation at Collipp-Worden Park. In addition to games, attendees carved pumpkins, enjoyed live music, candy and treats. Parks Manager Dan Kremer earlier this month said he expects the new Halloween event to be held annually.
Nice weather for the park
Daniel Rickabaugh of Portage enjoys the somewhat cooler morning temperatures Monday with his daughters Eleanor, left, and Adalynn at Collipp Worden Park. "My kids like this park the best because there are more kids to play with and fewer mosquitoes," Rickabaugh said of their choice. Following an exceptionally warm weekend, Portage on Monday saw a high temperature of 86 and will again see high temperatures in the upper 80s for today and Wednesday, according to the Weather Channel.

As of Tuesday, all Wisconsin state parks and trails are open and fees have been waived for the duration of the public health emergency, but the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources advises people to maintain social distancing and to not congregate in groups of 10 or more.
