REEDSBURG - Edward H. Haefer, 77, of Reedsburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at his home following a battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 5, 1933 in Rock Springs, the son of Walter Henry and Leda F. Reinfeldt Haefer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was married to Connie Ann Kraemer July 19, 1959; she preceded him in death Oct. 19, 1969.
He also was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents; his mother- and father-in-law, Carl and Inez Kraemer; and brothers and sisters-in-law Reuben Brandt, Vernon and Dorothy Kraemer and Kathy Kraemer.
Ed had a fond love for farming, which led him to become a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, playing cards, shaking dice and arm-wrestling with anyone who would take his challenge. He had a unique ability to remember everyone's birthday.

He is survived by his children, Jeannette (Ron) Kruse of Rock Springs and Jerry Haefer and Geraldine Feinberg of Reedsburg; grandchildren, Jessica A. Kruse of Milwaukee, Ryan R. (Jacky) Kruse of Menomonie, Dan (Heather) Haefer of Illinois, Kevin Feinberg of Baraboo and Stephanie Feinberg of Reedsburg; sisters and brothers, Arlene Brandt of Reedsburg, Betty (LeRoy) Hinze of Reedsburg, Karen (David) Allen of Reedsburg, Marvin (Boots) Haefer of Prairie du Chien, David (Barbara) Haefer of Reedsburg and LaMoine (Elaine) Haefer of Cottage Grove; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Farber Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Springs. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Farber Funeral Home. Memorials of remembrance may be made to the Reedsburg Veterans Memorial Fund.
