Karyle E. Johnson
Karyle Johnson of Baraboo passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at St. Clare Hospital at age 53. Karyle was born on Sept. 26, 1954, to Leif and Ellen (Cox) Erickson in Monroe. She grew up on a farm near Waldwick, graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1971, and UW La Crosse in 1974. Karyle refused to allow juvenile-onset diabetes to even so much as slow her down from enjoying life to its fullest. Her intelligence, tenacity, and beauty were exceeded only by her love of God, her family, friends, and Sauk County. Karyle was a force to be reckoned with. She will be missed so much by so many who knew and loved her. Karyle was the administrator of the Sauk County Child Support Agency for over 33 years. Her agency is recognized statewide for their exceptional work. She proudly served on the Board of the Wisconsin Child Support Enforcement Association (WCSEA). She was an avid Badger Fan and "Magic 98 Fanatic." Karyle is survived by her loving husband, Dallas; one daughter, who is her ultimate pride and joy, Angela Erin Straub and her husband Spencer of McFarland; her mother Ellen Erickson, Mineral Point; brother Kim (Claire) Erickson, Winona, Minn.; her father and mother-in-law, Norman and Marilyn Johnson, Mineral Point; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends. Karyle was preceded in death by her father, Leif, and her grandparents G. Vernon and Blanche Cox. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Pastors Deb and Steve Ohrtmann officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Redlin Funeral home and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.
